The Howard lab studies functional, population, and community ecology, with a particular focus on behavior, physiology, and life history adaptations. We work on basic insect ecology and plant-animal interactions, population and habitat management, and the biology and impacts of invasive species. We collaborate with federal and state agencies, NGOs, and private conservation organizations to generate basic knowledge and applications that improve ecological management.
